The racial composition of opioid overdose death in Ohio has changed completely in just a few years. This chart shows Ohio opioid overdose death, by race, reported from January 1, 2007 through July 26, 2023.

For comparison purposes, Black residents account for 14.2% of Ohio’s population. White residents account for 82.6% and residents of other races (Asian, American Indian, etc.) are 3.3%. (Numbers add up to 100.1% due to rounding.)
