Ohio's conference for syringe programs will be held Monday-Tuesday, May 22-23, 2023, at the Ohio State University in Columbus.

The conference is for people who operate syringe programs, people who use the programs and people interested in starting new programs. The statewide syringe program conference is the first held since the covid pandemic.

The conference will include speakers, panels and discussions on topics related to syringe service programs and harm reduction. (A list of panels and presentations is here.)

The keynote presentation will be given by the harm reductionist experts who operate OnPoint NYC, the nation's first Overdose Prevention Center.

The conference costs $75 for two days or $50 for one day. This includes breakfast and lunch, all-day coffee, parking, continuing education credits and educational materials.

The conference hotel is the Holiday Day Inn Express and Suites. Conference rate: $110 per night. Click the link, then enter the dates for your stay. The conference rate will come up.

People who can't afford the registration fee may apply for scholarships here. Most scholarships will support people who have used syringe service programs. Application deadline for scholarships is Saturday, April 15. Scholarship recipients will be notified Tuesday, April 17.

Conference sponsors include Harm Reduction Ohio, the Ohio State University College of Public Health, Equitas Health, the Community Education Group and others.
